Babita Kumari Phogat Career

Babita wrestling career was started in 2009 after winning gold at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in the women’s freestyle 51 kg category. After completing many comptetion. She qualified for the Commonwealth game where she win a silver medal in 2010 at Delhi, Babita Phogat became India’s second female wrestler to earn a medal at the 2012 World Championships (her sister Geeta Phogat was the first). They were both awarded bronze medals.

She went on to win a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She then qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the country’s fourth female wrestler to do so. She was, however, defeated in the first round. Phogat won a Silver medal in at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast in women’s 55kg freestyle wrestling, following a bad result at the Rio Olympics.

Babita and her partner, Vivek Suhag, competed in the dancing reality show “Nach Baliye 9” in 2019.
