Deped TikTok Teacher Video Viral: On Friday, the Department of Education announced that it is investigating a TikTok video featuring a teacher that has gone viral and may suggest child abuse. The case involves child maltreatment, although the teacher has yet to be recognized by officials. The user @leobondoclopez uploaded a Tik Tok clip in which a male teacher tries to capture the attention of his student. He has a following of 104,000 on the platform after the video account was converted to private.

“We encourage our teachers and non-teaching professionals to hold our words and actions, including our social media activities, to the highest ethical and professional standards,” the Department of Education said.
“The Department of Education, as an institution charged with safeguarding the rights of every Filipino student, does not tolerate any type of child abuse,” the department stated in a statement.
The video depicted a guy teacher attempting to get his student’s attention. “Kapag dumaan ‘yung cute na student mo…tamang pa-cute lang lang lang,” the caption stated.
The teacher was seen dancing and posing in the viral video in order to lure “attractive” kids. The video has since been taken down, however, it was still available for download on social media.
